Zi Wei Dou Shu, also known as Zi Wei Astrology, is a widely used system of fate calculation in China, but is not well known in the West. It is surprisingly accurate in describing the personality of a subject’s chart. Zi Wei (the Purple Emperor) is the leading star when making a chart. Dou Shu means calculation. Zi Wei Astrology has been growing in popularity in recent years. Few teach this subject, preferring to keep it mysterious.

The American Feng Shui Institute is teaching this multi-class coursework with the hopes of bringing a clearer understanding of Chinese Astrology to the general public. Zi Wei Dou Shu is a Chinese astrology that describes your past, present and future in twelve life categories, such as career, spouse, travel, money, etc. Zi Wei Dou Shu involves numerous calculations to locate stars (more than 100), and a complex system of interpretation based on a lifetime reading, ten-year, one-year and month-long periods of time.

This method was developed in the Song Dynasty, about 1000 years ago. It is still popular in China today. This is a serious course that involves a fair amount of calculation, but the rewards are great. With practice, you can understand a person.
