New Class: FS303 Advanced Case Study #3

Monday, September 14th, 2009

In this class, you will learn more about how a person fits into a building based on their birth information. This class doesn’t use the personal trigram ( 命卦 ming gua); instead it uses the stem and branch, especially of the year of birth. We will learn:

  • which directions lead to sleeping alone
  • which directions bring helpful people
  • which directions lead to money loss

Besides this, we will discuss a special configuration of the flying stars that brings celebration, marriage, and/or new babies to the occupants of a house.

Prerequisite:

  • FS201OL – Advanced Feng Shui Class
  • AS101OL – Stems and Branches

New Class: FS275 Nine Palace Grid and Pie-Chart Usage

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

The proper diagramming of a building is crucial for a Feng Shui analysis. How to do it is an art that cannot be found in any books. There is a lot of variation in the shape and layout of houses, so no source can cover every possibility. However, there are guidelines and principles. When these are combined with experience and common sense, the Feng Shui practitioner will be better able to perform an accurate reading.

Besides the issue of the shape and layout of the house, there is another important issue. When do we use a three-by-three grid with nine palaces and when do we use a pie chart over the house?

This class will explain the use of the grid versus the pie-chart according to the old books and the experience of Master Sang.

Prerequisite: FS201OL – Advanced Feng Shui Class

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

We are pleased to announce one of our senior instructors, Dr. Simona Mainini, will be speaking at the 4th Conference for Scientific Feng Shui and Built Environment on February 20th & 21st, 2009 at the Wei Hing Theatre, City University of Hong Kong, Tat Chee Ave., Kowloon Tong, Hong Kong.

The conference’s theme is “Design Harmony” and will be open to Feng Shui professionals, the public, and media. Dr. Mainini’s presentation will focus on the “Fundamentals of Xuan Kong’s Effects on an Occupant’s Health,” a less-explored part of the Feng Shui topic, and one that Dr. Mainini has been investigating and experiencing in her international consulting business: “Health and wellness means so much more that just not being sick… They each help us constantly move forward to achieve a more fulfilling life, as well as have successful and thriving businesses.”

Dr. Mainini was recently involved with Canon Europe’s creation of a comprehensive report on using Scientific Feng Shui to reduce office stress and increase businesses’ productivity. Previously she became known to the media as the Feng Shui Master consultant for the Los Angeles Zoo’s Golden Monkey Exhibit, the first animal habitat built worldwide following Feng Shui principles.

With the company she founded in 1997, Feng Shui for Architecture, Dr. Mainini has gained worldwide praise and recognition for becoming one of most well-known and respected experts in her field as well as a highly sought-after international speaker and advisor to Hollywood celebrities, business executives (including the producers of the movie “300″), casinos, and real estate developers all over the globe helping them to improve their well-being and achieve their highest success with the use of Feng Shui. Her first book, “Feng Shui for Architecture” — the first book in the English language to address the design of a new building using Scientific Feng Shui principles — was written from her years of knowledge and experience as a former architect who’s now working as a Feng Shui Master consultant for architectural projects. Stems and Branches and the Chinese Calendar AS101 (also available on line)
You cannot understand the finer points of Chinese studies such as Feng Shui, Yi Jing, Astrology, Day Selection, etc. without understanding the Stems and Branches. The Stems and the Branches are some of the oldest Chinese characters. They were found often on the oracle bones, making them more than 4000 years old. They represent the cycles of the energies of heaven and the energies of earth, and have a profound effect on our well-being. They are based on yin and yang and the five elements, but have many other aspects to them. A good foundation in the Chinese calendar is also necessary. Most Westerners do not know that the Chinese had a solar calendar as well as a lunar one. In Feng Shui, we use the solar calendar, and serious Feng Shui students need to understand how this calendar works. Zi Wei Dou Shu astrology uses the lunar calendar, so this will also be discussed. This class will enable the student to understand the information presented in other classes so that they can apply those techniques accurately. It is a pre-requisite for some of the classes in Weeks 2 and 3 of the Intensive.
Date: Sunday, June 15, 2008; 2 to 5 pm
***

Week 2: More Advanced Feng Shui Classes
The first two days of this week will be Feng Shui Case Study Classes. In these, Master Sang shares some interesting and informative cases from his files. Case studies are important to show the real-world application of Feng Shui and to illustrate certain circumstances that tend to bring about a particular outcome. In addition, sentences from the old Chinese memorization poems about Feng Shui will be discussed. The ancients crystallized their knowledge into these poems, which are still relevant in Feng Shui readings today.

Case Study 1 and 2 FS301 and FS302 (not available on line)
* What makes occupants seldom stay home
* Why occupants of a house tend to like to drink alcohol
* Why female occupants in a house tend to look younger and prettier
* Why an occupant hangs himself
* Why an occupant needs surgery
* Why an occupant had throat cancer
* Construction tips related to the 5 yellow star and the door
Date: Monday, June 16, 2008; 10 am to 5 pm
Prerequisite: FS201 Advanced Feng Shui, Stems and Branches AS101

Case Study 9 and 10 FS309 and FS310 (not available on line)
* Why the eldest son gets injured soon after moving in
* Why an older male hurts a young female
* Why a mother leaves her husband and family
* We will teach you how to make use of the external environment to enhance your prosperity, or how to custom-make your environment to maximize your luck.
* We will look at the influence of the Pre-Heaven sequence of the Trigrams and its relationship to the Luo Shu (the Post-Heaven arrangement, commonly used in Feng Shui).
Date: Tuesday, June 17, 2008; 10 am to 5 pm
Prerequisite: FS201 Advanced Feng Shui

The following three days are a detailed introduction into Yin House Feng Shui, the art and science of determining a proper grave site. Yin House is important, not only to give your ancestors a comfortable resting place, but also because a grave site has an important influence on the fortunes of the next three generations. The complete details of Yin House reading cannot be contained in three days of class, but a good start can be made in this time. Yin House Feng Shui is rarely taught in the West, so this is a great opportunity.

Yin House Feng Shui, Introduction to the Environment (New Class, not available on line)
This class goes over the principles of selecting a good environment for a grave site. Some of these principles are quite different from Yang House (buildings for the living).
Date: Wednesday, June 18, 2008; 10 am to 5 pm
Prerequisite: FS201 Advanced Feng Shui

Yin House Feng Shui, Introduction to the Qi Calculation (New Class, not available on line)
This class discusses the effect of time and compass orientation on a Yin House reading.
Date: Thursday, June 19, 2008; 10 am to 5 pm
Prerequisite: FS201 Advanced Feng Shui, Stems and Branches AS101

Yin House Feng Shui, Field Trip (New Class, not available on line)
We will visit some nearby cemeteries to practice applying the principles learned in the previous two days. Students will carpool, so please let us know if you are willing to drive.
Date: Friday, June 20, 2008; 10 am to 5 pm (If you are catching an airplane after class, please leave extra time in case traffic and circumstances cause delays.)
Prerequisite: FS201 Advanced Feng Shui

Week 3: Zi Wei Dou Shu Astrology Classes
Zi Wei Dou Shu is a Chinese astrology that describes your past, present and future in twelve life categories, such as Career, Spouse, Travel, etc. It involves numerous calculations to locate more than 100 stars, and a complex system of interpretation based on a lifetime reading, ten-year and one-year periods of time. This method was developed in the Song Dynasty, about 1000 years ago. It is still popular in China today. Zi Wei Dou Shu astrology offers great detail and wonderful insight but this class is intense, and the calculations are fairly sophisticated. We give more than a hundred pages of handouts.
Required Materials: Ten-Thousand Year Calendar. We offer an ebook version in English for $26 on our Website (www.amfengshui.com).

Zi Wei Dou Shu, Day 1 AS201 (also available on line)
Set up a chart and place the Fourteen Major Stars to get a description of the personality and lifetime trends.

Zi Wei Dou Shu, Day 3 AS301 (also available on line)
Time is factored in so you can make predictions for the future and see the events of the past.

Prerequisite: Zi Wei Dou Shu Day 2 AS211

Zi Wei Dou Shu, Case Study 5 AS315 (New Class, not available on line)

Date: Thursday, June 26, 2008; 10 am to 5 pm
Prerequisite: Zi Wei Dou Shu Day 3 AS301

Laozi’s Dao De Jing (New Class, not available on line)
The Dao De Jing has been the most important classic of Daoism for about 2,500 years. In it, Laozi tells us how to live a life that is satisfying and free from constraint. The secret is in emulating the flexibility and softness of water, in emptying, rather than filling. Master Sang has long studied the Dao De Jing and feels it holds the key to a life that is meaningful.
Date: Friday, June 27, 2008; 10 am to 5 pm
