PM messaging denied

Hello,

I am a graduate student online and have a profile with AFSI.
I have a few difficulties, and wonder if I am doing something wrong.
1. I have tried to send private messages to one of my instructors, while I was registered in the advanced class but I was not allowed. (i got a message that pm has been disabled on this board).
2. I have got a message about friend request, but after clicking new friend request on my profile page, it says :"no pending friends"
One of the students who had wanted to be friend with me had had to email to the office and ask my email address in order to contact me..since then I have got 2 messages for new friend request in small window, that said:click here to confirm. I clicked, but only got the message again: no new friend request.
Please tell me what to do, I would really like to know who wants to be my friend and also I would like to send requests to other students once in a while.

Hi Kornelia,

We have disabled quite a few features of this forum as we have been attacked by a lot of automated spam. As such, we are currently looking for a replacement forum software. It is my desire to have some replacement system up by the end of summer.
